William Knapp immigrated in 1630 to Watertown, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.3
He left a will signed 1655 at Massachusetts, in which. mentions no wife, but in the settlement of his estate, his widow, Priscilla, received on-third of it, besides a debt due to her, for a sum loaned tohime before marriage. Most of his estate passed from his heirs to that of Nathaniel Coolidge. Witnesses were Richard Beers, Richard Bloiss, and Nathaniel Salisbury. Mid. Deeds, volume ii, pages 201-203 says he died intestate, and his estate was divided by order of the court. Perhaps the Will was set aside because he mae it before his last marriage. On October 15, 1658, administration on the estate was granted to Ephraim Child, Richard Beers and Priscilla Knapp. The next April, she was released from the administration. On December 1658 the constable of Watertown was ordered by the court to deliver to widow Knapp her chest and other things, which John Knapp has detained from her by attachment. On December 16, 1662, Ephraim Child and Serjt. Beers were discharged from the administration of William Knapp, and John Coolidge and Henry Bright appointed in their place.3,4
William (his second marriage) married Priscilla (?) (her first marriage) in 1655 at Watertown, Middlesex County, Massachusetts Bay Colony.3,2
William died on August 30, 1659 in Massachusetts, at age 80.1
