Fire of unknown origin destroyed the home and took the lives of Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Noblett, who resided east of Vienna, early Saturday morning. Neighbors discovered the fire about four-thirty and by the time they reached the scene the flames had gained so much headway that the aged couple could not be rescued. They had spent their lives in the community and their calamitous death was a painful shock to their many friends and relatives.
Mrs. Noblett, the former Miss Telitha Jane Copeland, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Copeland was born near Vienna September 15, 1861 and was 79 years, 5 months and 23 days of age. She is survived by one sister Minnie Spratley of near Vienna and by three brothers Oliver, Granville and Columbus Copeland. Three brothers and six sisters are deceased. Thomas Jefferson Noblett, son of Ira and Rebecca Noblett, was born in California August 14, 1859 and was 81 years, 6 months and 24 days of age. One brother William Noblett of near Vienna survives and two brothers Ira and James Henry and one sister Elizabeth Smallwood are deceased.
Mr. and Mrs. Noblett were married at Vienna bout sixty two years ago and they had ten children, nine daughters and one son. One daughter died in infancy. Left to mourn are Frank Noblett, Rebecca Duffin, Euna Hutchison, Mabel Palmer Rosa Duncan, Wilma Bullock and Nina Stockton, all of near Vienna; Ella Alexander of Dixon and Eulalle Palmer of near Rolla. Thirty grandchildren and three great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Methodist Church in Vienna, Carl A. Balwin and Undertaker W. C. Birmingham in charge and burial was in Vienna Cemetery

Rose Lee Duncan, Rolla, died Tuesday night, October 3, 1972 at Phelps County Memorial Hospital at the age of 71. Mrs. Duncan was born in Vienna, June 27, 1901. She was the daughter of the late Jeff Noblett and Jane Copeland Noblett of Vienna. She was the widow of the late Jasper Duncan of Warrenton, Mo., formerly of this area. Mr. Duncan died in March 1965. Mrs. Duncan then moved to Rolla. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: two sisters, Mrs. Nina Evans, Rolla; and Mrs. Mable Palmer, Houston, Texas; and a brother, Frank Noblett, Vienna; and many nieces and nephews.
Five sisters preceded her in death, Euna Hutchison, Wilma Bullock, Becca Duffin, Eulalie Palmer Branson and Ella Alexander.
Funeral services were held at a Rolla funeral chapel Friday, Oct. 6, with the Rev. Wilson Davis officiating, accompanied by the Davis Singers. Interment was at Warrenton.
