His obituary was published in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch Newspaper on June 15, 1929.47 His grave is isn section 25, lot 223, grave 1 in a Riddle Co. casket. The funeral cost $466.00 which was paid by his sister Agnes Seeger, $193.40 in July 1929 and then $10.00 per month until paid. The procession included nine limousines and a hearse. His obituary stated:

W. Hardesty, Mrs. Edwin Schulenberg, Mrs. Henry Seegers, Mrs. William Medell and James P. Heade, our dear uncle and grandfather. Funeral from Cullinane Bros, funeral parlor 1710 North Grand boulevard, Monday, June 17 at 8:30 a. m. to St. Liborius Church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. (c7)
