     Gerhardt Droege, son of Georg Henrich Droege and Maria Elisabeth Pluemer, was born on May 11, 1821 in Osnabrück, Kreisfreie Stadt Osnabrück, Niedersachsen, Germany.1,2 He was christened Gerhardt on October 13, 1821 at St. John Church, Osnabrück, Kreisfreie Stadt Osnabrück, Niedersachsen, Germany.2
Gerhardt immigrated along with Georg Henrich Droege and Maria Elisabeth Pluemer in 1836 at Washington County, Missouri.3

Gerhardt was a printer's devil in a printing house from 1840 to 1855.3 He was naturalized on October 25, 1843 at the Circuit Court in St. Louis, Missouri. Listed in volume 14, page 223, his native country was Germany.4
Gerhardt married Sophia Anna Regina Hafkemeyer, daughter of John Conrad Hafkemeyer and Katrina Elizabeth Vornholt, on May 12, 1849.1

To each of my children the sum of one dollar. All the rest, residue and remainder of my entire estate I give, devise and bequest to my beloved wife Sophia Droege absolutely, forever. Should however my said wife at the time of her death not have disposed of my said estate by last will or otherwise than it is my desire that the following disposition shall be made of said estate.
1st to our grand child Gussie Droege the sum of five thousand dollars to be paid her when she attains the age of twenty three years.
2nd to our son William the house on the north west corner of 10th Str and Morrison Avenuewith the 37 1/2 feet of ground in city block 467 of said city of St. Louis, also the sum of eight thousand dollars, he paying to the estate the sum of six thousand dollars, which I have advanced to him.
3d to William Droege in trust for my son Robert the two dwelling houses nos 1417 and 1419 South 10th Str in City block 390 of St. Louis with 33 1/2 feet of ground fronting on saind 10th Str and also the sum of eight thousand dollars.
4th to our son Albert the thirty feet of ground on east side of Broadway in city block 697 of the City of St. Louis, upon which stand houses 1412 and 1414 of Broadway also the sum of Eight Thousand dollars.
5th to our daughter Mathilde, wife of R. H. Denies, dec'd, the two houses on west side of Iowa Avenue, Nos. 4141 and 4143 in city block 2624 of the city of st. Louis with the seventy four feed of ground adjoining north, also the sum of eight thousand dollars.
6th to our daughter Eulalia, now wife of Horace Hagan, the sum of fifteen thousand dollars.
The remainder of my property shall thereupon be equally divided among all my children living.
I nominate my beloved wife Sohpie Droege executrix of this will and reauest that shee shall be appointed without being required to give bond as such.

The undertaker who handled his arrangements was Henry Scheele & Sons, Undertakers and Embalmers at 701 to 709 Soulard Street in St. Louis, Missouri.6 He was buried on May 14, 1891 in Calvary Catholic Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri, in section 13, lot 37.2,78

The will of Gerhardt was proven on June 3, 1891 at Probate Court, St. Louis, Missouri.6
Sophia Anna Regina Hafkemeyer was appointed executrix of the estate of Gerhardt Droege on June 6, 1891.6
The probate of his estate was filed, an inventory was taken on August 20, 1891. Sophia Anna Regina Hafkemeyer prepared the inventory.6 The inventory of the estate included:

I. Lots number six and seven in Block number Six of Benjamin A. Soulard's Addition and in Block No. 390 of the City of St. Louis and State of Missouri; each of said lots fronting thirty feet on the west side of Tenth formerly Buel Street by a depth westwardly of One hundred and fourteen feet in depth to an alley twenty feet wide.
It being the same real estate which said deceased acquired from Adolphus Frederick Von Wangelin's wife, by deed date May 20, 1856 and of record in book 176 page 24 of the Recorder's Office of the lat County now City of St. Louis.
Improvements thereon consist of two 2-story brick buildings being premises No. 1417 and 1419 South 10th Street, insured for $1500 each in the Germania Fire Ins. Co. of New York as per Policy No. 7606 expiring March 28, 1896.
II. Lot number Five in Block number Six of Benjamin A. Soulard's Addition to said City of St. Louis and in City Block No. 390, being thirty feet front on the western edge of Tenth formerly Buel Street and running westwardly at right angles with said Street One Hundred and fourteen feet to an alley twenty feet wide.
It being the same real estate which said deceased acquired from Joseph F. Feigerlick by deed dated April 6, 1865 and of record in book 298 page 384 of the Recorders Office of the late County now City of St. Louis.
Improvements thereon consist of a two story brick building being premises No. 1421 South 10th Street, insured for $2000 in the House Ins. Co. of New York as per Policy No. 5966 expiring September 26, 1893.
III. Lot number Nine of Block number Ten of Soulard's Addition to said City and in City Block No. 697 containing thirty feet front on the West line of Broadway formerly Carondelet Avenue by a depth of One Hundred and forty feet to an alley twenty feet wide.
It being the same real estate which said deceased acquired from Jacob Hinters by Public Administrator's deed dated March 10, 1879 and of record in book 606 page 348 of the Recorder's for said City.
Improvements thereon consist of a two story brick building being premises No. 1412 and 1414 South Broadway insured for $1000 in the Franklin Mutual Ins. Co. of St. Louis, Mo, as per Policy No. 14771 expiring October 16, 1892.
IV. Lot number Seventeen and the east half of Lot number Eighteen in block number Three of Page's Southern Addition to said City and in city Block No. 467 W., said lot beginning at the intersection of the North line of Morrison Avenue with the West line of Tenth Street, thence West thirty-seven feet six inches to the centre line of a partition wall to adjoining house, thence north an parallel to said Tenth Street One hundred and eighteen feet four inches to the South line of an alley fifteen feet wide, thence east along said South line Thirty-seven feet six inches to the West line of said Tenth Street, thence South along said West line One hundred and eighteen feet four inches to the place of beginning.
It being the same real estate which said deceased acquired from Caroline Levey x Silverein her husband by deed dated September 11, 1886 and recorded in book 804 page 56 of the Recorder's Office for said city of St. Louis.
Improvements thereon consist of a two story brick building being premises No. 1003 Morrison Avenue, insured for $2000— in the Franklin Mut. Ins. Co. of St. Louis, Mo, as per Policy No. 14038, expiring September 11/91.
V. Lots number Eleven, Twelve, Thirteen, Fourteen and Fifteen of Block number Two of the First Subdivision of the City Commons made under Ordinance No. 3126 approved Febry 3 1854 a plat o which said subdivision is duly recorded in the Recorder's Office for said City containing One hundred and twenty-five feet in front by a depth of One hundred and twenty five feet bounded north by South Gasconade Street, East by Iowa Avenue, South by alley and West by alley.
It being the same real estate which said deceased acquired from the City of St. Louis by deed dated June 7, 1854 and of record in book 158 page 61 of the Recorder's Office for said City.
Improvements thereon consist of a one story mansard roof double brick building, insure for $3000.- as per Policy No. 15568 expiring October 4, 1893.
VI. Lots number Sixteen, Seventeen and Eighteen of Block number Tow of the Subdivision of the South West Quarter of St. Louis City Commons Block No. Seventy eight being now in St. Louis City Block No. 2524. Said Property having a aggregate front of Seventy-seven <77> feet and six <6> inches on the Eastern line of California Avenue by a depth on One hundred and twenty-five <125> feet to an alley twenty <20> feet wide, bounded North by lot no 19, east by said alley, south by another alley twenty <20> feet wide and west by said California Avenue. It being the same property which said deceased acquired from John C. Hogennart by deed dated November 3, 1887 and record in book 846 page 104 of the Recorder’s Office for the City of St Louis.
Leasehold Estate.
The unexpired term of lease of a lot of ground in City Block number one hundred and fifty-four <154> of the City of St. Louis and Sate of Missouri having a front of Twenty <20> feet on the East side of South Broadway by a depth on One hundred and forty-three <143> feet and seven <7> inches more or less to an alley and being composed of the Southern seventeen feet of lot numbered Twenty <20> of said Block and bounded North by Cha Beckmann, lessee, and South by John C. Buddecke, lessee.
It being the same lot of ground which the said deceased leased of the Ladies of the Sacred Heart by indenture of Lease dated July 12, 1886 and recorded in Book 794 page 396 of the Recorder's Office for the City of St. Louis, Mo.

Russian frigate ALEXANDER PETION, built in Archangelsk, Russia, year not given, although she was considered "old" when she arrived in Bremen in 1829. 959 45/94 French tons (in the hanseatische Schiffahrtsregister, capacity given as 480 Lasten, approximately equal to 320 of the later standard Commerzlasten); 2 decks. She arrived at Bremen on 19 November 1829 under the command of Arnold Philipp Gaetjen. She was renamed OLBERS in honor of the 50th anniversary, in 1830, of Olbers receiving his medical doctorate from the University of G"ottingen in 1780. She was later under the command of Johann Michael Herklotz. Arriving with John were Franz Heinrich Georg Hafkemeyer, Wilhelmine Hafkemeyer, Augustus Hafkemeyer, Sophia Anna Regina Hafkemeyer and Wilhelm Hafkemeyer.1,2 John Conrad Hafkemeyer was naturalized on April 1, 1842 at the Common Pleas Court in St. Louis, Missouri. Listed in volume 2, page 219, his native country was identified as Hanover. The witnesses were Joseph Hertkamp and Henry Linkemeyer.3
