Stanford died on December 5, 1934 at in the woods, 200 ft off Woods Mill Road in near Manchester, St. Louis County, Missouri, at age 38, Lucille A. Moore was the informant on his death certificate.2,8 His cause of death was a gunshot wound in the left side, with a 20 guage shot gun. This occured in the woods on the Woods Mill Road in Bonhomme Township. He had been hunting and was missing for two days before he was found. It was uncertain if it was accidental or suicide.2
The undertaker who handled his arrangements was Louiis Bopp in Kirkwood, St. Louis County, Missouri.2
His obituary was published in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch newspaper on December 7, 1934.8 His obituary stated:
Hollocher, Standord—Wed., Dec. 5, 1934, beloved husband of Lucille A. Hollocher (nee Moore), dear father of William Stanford and Jeanette.
Funeral Sat., Dec. 8, 1:30 p, m, from Bopp Chapel, Hanley rd. and Forsythe bl., to St. Joseph's Church, Clayton. Omit flowers. Interment private, Oak Hill Cemetery.

A newspaper article in St. Louis Post-Dispatch Newspaper dated December 7, 1934 reported EXPERT ON BONDS FOUND SHOT TO DEATH IN WOODS — Stanley Hollocher, 38, Missing Since Wednesday When He Spoke of Going Hunting. —Said To Have Lost $100,000 in 1929.
The body of Stanford Hollocher, 38-year-old bond trader, with a gunshot wound in the left temple and a borrowed shotgun beside it, was found this morning in a woo.9

His funeral service was held on December 8, 1934 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Clayton, St. Louis County, Missouri.10 Stanford Hollocher was buried on December 8, 1934 in Oak Hill Cemetery in Kirkwood, St. Louis County, Missouri.2
