Mrs. Hopen attended school at Ulman. She has been employed for 36 years as a supervisor and cashier at Montgomery Ward Company, retiring in 1982.
In addition to her husband she is survived by a son, Jack E. Smith of Jefferson City; a brother, James R. Dickson of Jefferson City; two sisters: Helen Trees and Pat Michelson; both of Jefferson City; a granddaughter and three grandsons; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services services were held Monday at Buescher Funeral Home in Jefferson City with the Rev. John Fischer and the Rev. John C. Condit officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the oncology unit at Memorial Community Hospital.
