Mrs. Barbara Ann Hehl, 87, widow of Philip J. Hehl, a lifelong resident of Scioto County passed away at the home of her brother-in-law and sister Mrs. and Mrs. Bert Sutton, 5926 1/2 Gallia Street Sciotoville at 5:45 p.m. Sunday. Mrs. Hehl had been ill for about two weeks.
Born May 11, 1862, Mrs. Hehl was Barbara Ann Reiser, daughter of John and Rose Reiser of Long Run community. She was married to Philip J. Hehl who died June 1, 1937.
For some years Mrs. Hehl resided in the Pleasant Hill neighborhood near Arion.
Surviving are a son, Roy Hehl, 2708 Ritchie Street, two daughters, Mrs. Helen Harris, 3029 Michigan Avenue and Mrs. Pauline Kennard 1351 Fourth Street West Portsmouth; 20 grandchildren, six great grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. Rose Schoettle of Turkey Creek, Mrs. Lena Sutton of Sciotoville, Mrs. Anna Palmer of Hood River, Oregon, two brothers, John Reiser and Theodore Reiser of Turkey Creek.
Children who preceded the mother were Mrs. Gertrude Catherine Womack, Miss Bertha Hehl, Miss Rosena Margaret Hehl, Raymond Morris Hehl and Arthur Hehl.
Mrs. Reiser was a member of the central Presbyterian church.
The body will remain at Dahler funeral home where the last rites will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Arland V. Briggs officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery.
