Her obituary was published in the Moberly Monitor-Index on January 7, 1954.2 Her obituary stated:
Mrs. Alice E. Schoettle, once a prominent musician, died Tuesday at her home here after a long illness.
Mrs. Schoettle was born Jan. 6, 1881, in Kansas City, Mol., and was graduated from the University of Missouri. She married Gustav Schoettle in 1908.
They moved to Iowa City, Ia., the year of their marriage, where Schoettle founded the music department of the University of Iowa.
Several years later the family moved to Minneapolis, where Mrs. Schoettle gained prominance as a pianist, composer and music teacher. She was a specialist in child musical training.
The family came to Denver in 1931 after Mrs. Schoettle was stricken by multiple sclerosis
