Simon Loethen Dies After Long Illness
Following an extended illness of Bright's disease, Simon P. Loethen, 63, died at his home in Washington Park last Wednesday afternoon.
Loethen had been a resident of Jefferson City for 25 years, and was a strawberry raiser and dairyman. He was born at St. THomas January 10, 1871, and was a life long member of the Catholic Church.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Elizabeth Loethen, one daughter, Mrs. Margaret Scrivner; and three sons, Louis, Joseph, and Clements, all of this community. He also leaves two brothers, Adolph and Herman, and a sister, Mrs. Mary Ihler of Boone County.
