Ray Hampe, and Terry & Ellen Weis. Msgr. Reilly (aka Dub) was born on May 28, 1927 in University City, MO. He graduated from CBC high school in 1945. An excellent student and an outstanding athlete, he earned seven major letters in football, basketball, and track, and was inducted into the CBC Hall of Fame in 1988. He was a WWII veteran, serving in the Navy after high school. He attended St. Benedict's College in KS before entering Kenrick Seminary in 1948. He was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of St. Louis by Archbishop Joseph Ritter on Apr 3, 1954. From 1954 to 1976, he served as an assistant pastor at the parishes of St. Jerome, St. Luke, St. Joan of Arc, Holy Innocents, St. Patrick and All Saints. He continued his education, earning a Doctorate in Sociology from SLU in 1970. In 1972, he was appointed Rector at St. Louis Preparatory Seminary North. In 1981, he became the Asst. Superintendent of Secondary Schools for the Archdiocese, as well as Associate Pastor at St. Gregory Parish. He was named Prelate of Honor with title of Monsignor in 1982. He was appointed Pastor of Mary Mother of the Church Parish in 1990 and served there until his retirement in 2009. Monsignor Reilly resided at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in St. Charles until suffering a major stroke in 2011. He then moved to Mother of Good Counsel Home where he lived under the loving care of the nuns and staff (Sr. M. Stephanie Belgeri) and he inspired others with his fighting spirit and good nature. Msgr. Reilly was everything a priest should be. He possessed a great sense of humor, infectious laugh, and a lively disposition. His only fault was that he played a lousy banjo. Msgr. Reilly was greatly admired and loved for his intelligence, holiness, humility and geniality. Services: Visitation Tuesday, October 29, from 3-9pm, KUTIS South County, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road. Mass Wednesday, October 30, 9:30am at Mary, Mother of the Church, 5901 Kerth Road, St Louis, Mo. Interment in Calvary Cemetery.
