     Edward Langhoff Emling, son of Charles Alex Emling Sr and Gladius Amelia "Gladys" Langhoff, was born on October 12, 1923 in New Orleans, Orleans Parish, Louisiana.1
His obituary was published in the EMLING Edward Langhoff Emling, Sr., died Sat., July 18, 2009. Funeral services with full military honors were held July 21 at Lakewood Funeral Home, Jackson, MS. A native of New Orleans, he was born Oct. 12, 1923, to the late Gladys Langhoff and Charles Alexis Emling, Sr. Mr. Emling was a graduate of Tulane University and a member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. A veteran of World War II, he served in the European Theatre of Operations and was discharged as a first lieutenant. He was called back to active duty during the Korean War and was assigned as Assistant Professor of Military Science and Tactics at Tulane University ROTC until 1954. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1968. He had lived in Jackson since 1964 and is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Jane Biederman Emling, 2 daughters, 2 sons and 5 grandchildren. His brother Charles A. Emling, Jr., and sisters Marielle Verlander and Phyllis Saer preceded him in death. on July 18, 2009.1
Edward died on July 18, 2009 in Jackson, Hinds County, Mississippi, at age 85.1 His obituary stated:
